Craig Gossman is a musician as well as an architect and so it is particularly satisfying when he can combine these passions as he does with his design for the expansion of Leon’s Garage Restaurant / Bar in Marysville, OH. While work is continuing, the music stage opened to the public in February with a sold out crowd for Nashville performer Clayton Q.

The music stage is contained in a 4,500 sq ft expansion at the rear of the existing Leon’s Garage Restaurant which will close soon for a complete renovation. In addition to the new stage, the project also added new seating and bar areas, a balcony and special loft for VIPs. The venue will also be available for special events and private parties. With the coming of warmer weather, a new patio will be added between Leon’s and the adjacent House of Spirits along with an outdoor performance area. A complete grand opening is planned for later this spring or early summer. Construction is by Goodwin Services, LLC serving the communities of Marysville, Delaware, Upper Sandusky, Marion, Urbana, Sunbury, Springfield and surrounding territories.
The addition of Leon’s LIVE! cements the complex’s place as the anchor to Maryville’s mixed-use section of the downtown where public/private investment has created a vibrant entertainment district known as the historic Uptown District. The heart of Marysville, the historic Uptown District was identified as a strategic development opportunity in a master plan previously prepared by Craig Gossman and his team for the City almost 8-10 years ago.

The Leon’s project required the approval of Marysville’s Design Review Board which found the design consistent with the purpose of the historic Uptown Marysville Design Review District to maintain and enhance the distinctive character of the community’s historic, architectural integrity while still creating a place for a modern, vibrant entertainment venue.
